6 Copywriting Tips

On one of my previous post, I shared with you on how to write a remarkable post, today we want to improve on that and I’m going to share with you six powerful copywriting tips that you can incorporate into your affiliate marketing efforts.

As you very well know copywriting is a skill that should be acquired by any affiliate business owner especially for any serious affiliate marketer who desires to multiply their earning revenue.

  • Why would you want to sharpen your copywriting skills, you may ask?

It is because as an affiliate marketer you will have to communicate to your audience through writing – and if your writing can’t effectively convey your message, then you are going to have quite a challenge ahead of you.

Below are the six tips on copywriting that can help you to achieve your affiliate marketing goals:

1.) Know your Target Market

The best copywriters are the ones who will always know just who their audience is in a very clear and concise way. They know this because they want to understand the best way to appeal to their audience.

You need to keep in mind the tastes of your audience and speak directly to them at all times. If you use language which is too broad; you will miss your target audience.

You must know your audience in order to be able to write a post that stick to their interests.

2. ) Headlines that Capture Your Audience’s Interest

Use headlines to attract and retain the reader’s interest throughout your copy.

Studies have shown that headline can either grab or lose readers all by themselves – so use headlines which focus on the benefits that you can offer the reader; explain how you can solve the problems faced by the reader.

Employ sub headlines to keep readers moving down the page.

3.) Do not use Big Words

Good copywriting is not like writing an English paper; you want to use a casual, friendly style which quickly and clearly carries your message to the reader.

Write as if you are actually in the same room speaking to your reader and use an informal style; stay away from big words and keep from boring your prospects.

4.) Be Persuasive

It’s great to love the product you’re promoting, but it can make you appear like a biased source. Prospective customers would rather hear from people who stand nothing to gain and who have used the product.

Customer testimonials should be used, but make sure to include as much about the customers as you can like making use of pictures, the city they live in and their full name. The more information there is on the person, the more credible their testimonial will be.

5.) It’s not all about you!

In fact, good copywriting isn’t about you at all. To be effective as a copywriter, you need to talk about the customer and their needs, not yours. While a little bit about you may be necessary to establish a rapport with readers, make it about what you can do for them.

Look through your copy – if you see the word “I” a lot, go back and rewrite it. Try to make it about the customer, not you.

6.) Don’t forget the call

You have to give your customers a call to action; tell them what they need to do.

If you want them to click a link and buy your product, tell them so.

Say it in a way which outlines all of the benefits to be gained by using your product and give you link text like “click here to learn more about the best affiliate programs“. Use your words carefully and always have a call to action for readers to follow.
