Why is Michael Phelps so Famous?

Michael Phelps is probably one of the most highly competitive athletes of our century. At a tender age of 15, Michael Phelps became the youngest swimmer to be part of the U.S National Olympic Team since the 1932 Olympics.

Since the year 2001, Phelps continues to reestablish himself as one of the best swimmers that the world has witnessed. The following video captures his thoughts as he prepared for victory on the ongoing 2008 Beijing Olympics.

You might wonder what drives and makes him such a success and his ability to win and smash one world record after another. In Michael own words, and so I quote:
